www.collegejersey.co.uk along with the hosts the Hereford Chargers
sponsored the first non All Star Youth event where more than two teams
came together to help kids get exposure to a large turn out for a
practice and an opportunity to play some 11 on 11 football in a mixed
scrimmage at the end.
Whilst the event only attracted players only from
the South West, Team England Head Coach Warren Smart traveled the width
of the country to lead the coaching on the day. Warren knows the
importance of events like these and to see nearly 50 kids getting the
opportunity to get some 11 on 11 football experience made his long
journey worth while.
The day went off without accident or injury and the
kids that took part benefited from some great coaching including 2 Team
England Coaches and an ex American High School State championship
winning Linebacker. www.collegejersey.co.uk is set on improving youth
football in this country and to do so they realize that more of these
events need to be held.
The first will hopefully see Hereford recruit
enough players off the back of the great media interest including a
camera crew from the BBC -

get bolster their playing roster to gain entry into the youth league in
2006.
The kids got to wear game worn College Jerseys on the day as well with
the Defense wearing Mississippi State jerseys, the Offense wearing
Tennessee Volunteers jerseys and the QB's wearing Tulane jerseys.
All
of which were purchased from www.collegejersey.co.uk The next stop is Bath on Sunday the 12th of Feb 2006 where again we will
have an all star coaching staff, hopefully including some imported
Americans, for a non all star event. www.collegejersey.co.uk is keen to
develop all players and that scrimmage time at the end of the practice
as well as practice reps be dished out on an even basis rather than just
to the best players.
With Team England coaches attending it is a great
opportunity to get scouted.England Youth Team Head Coach Warren Smart was so impressed with the
event that we are hosting one at his home ground in Sussex to try and
kick start his youth programme a month later on Sunday March 12th.All the events are free for all kids that are youth eligible in 2006.
